I would like to welcome you to our newly evolved Empowerise project. Our 2021 Almsgiving Campaign has inspired us to go beyond simple charitable giving, to find a more sustainable way of helping those in need and I invite you to join us on this journey.
Our current Empowerise project consists of two side-by-side interventions for 25 Tibetan refugee families and 50 underprivileged Indian families, providing them with long-term practical, nutritional and educational support.
From financial aid for families to realize their small business projects, to basic needs in the form of Food Kits that ease the struggle to economize, the Empowerise project accompanies each family along their journey towards autonomy.
Together, with each family and local partners, we determine what is needed and how to organize each intervention. This is the initial research phase, in which the logistics, infrastructure, and team coordination are worked out until the project is clearly defined and ready for the next phase.
For those requiring basic needs, Food Kit distribution, educational support, and Basic Skills Workshops begin. Those with small business projects receive financial aid and attend Entrepreneur Workshops. Progress is monitored through interviews, and research data is collected.
The results of the project are assessed for its level of success: which families achieve their goals, how many reach self-sufficiency and what is the impact on health and well-being. The research data serves to improve the project which can then be exported to different regions and other countries.
We will ensure that the Food Kit items will not be sold and that they will be used by the end of each month.
We will actively seek work, with the exception of constraints concerning pregnancy and/or infant care.
If we don’t have a bank account, we will open one and save as much money as we can from our earnings.
We promise to keep our children in school, encourage their progress and take interest in their education.
We will provide updates and participate in interviews and skills workshops related to the needs of my family and project.
We’re here for you. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions about Empowerise and how you can get involved.
