Around the world, an estimated 2 billion people lack access to safe, nutritious and sufficient food.
With our Almsgiving Campaign we are on a mission to change that one step at a time. These are the steps we’ve already taken:
Families supported
Meals served
Villages
In collaboration with the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) and local Indian officials, 25 Tibetan families in six refugee settlements across India and 50 underprivileged Indian families in Bylakuppe, South India, will receive long-term support to enable them to reach a degree of self-sufficiency.
TGIF… Thank God it’s Friday! For many of us, the promise of the weekend brings relief to a hard week of work, a chance to relax. Now, imagine if Friday never came. If instead, each and every day upon awakening your first thought was, “I don’t know if I’ll have food for my family today”. In the face of basic survival, where are the weekends, the vacations, the retirement, the dreams? They simply never come.
Now imagine a new reality where families can break out of this cycle, find time to dream for themselves and their children, live fuller lives and create brighter futures.
The ALMSGIVING campaign is a pilot project aimed at creating flourishing, self-sustaining communities by providing a foundational support to its families that lifts them out of struggle. It functions on the principle that by providing long-term nutritional, educational, and organizational support for those who do not have access, families can allocate their limited resources to invest in themselves and in their children’s futures and break out of the cyclical struggle for survival.
When basic needs are met, and individuals are better educated and in good health, individuals are happier, free to be more creative, and able to take on a wider view of life. They can look outward to the broader community, engage and contribute, and enable the community to become self-sufficient through the work of its members. Your help can make this new reality possible in the lives of thousands.
The Pilot Project uses the Four Pillars as a guide: Health, Education, Sustainability and Mental Well-being.

Individual projects, such as starting or developing family businesses, are assisted to help them become autonomous and self-sustainable. Community members, ready to embark in new business ventures, will be supported through information sessions and skills workshops to provide them with initial support and direction. The Pilot Project will also provide local job opportunities such as packaging and distribution work for the Almsgiving Kit.
