Hope Away From Home?
Next week, on Tuesday, June 20th, the world celebrates the strength and courage of people who have been forced to flee their home country to escape conflict or persecution and the theme of World Refugee Day is « Hope away from home ».
Emergency responses to refugee crises are sadly only too familiar to us these days but what comes after for the millions of refugees around the world living year after year with little hope of ever returning home?
I Saved A Life is implementing long-term solutions that focus on local integration for those refugees for whom repatriation is not an option, where finding a home in the country of asylum and integrating into the local community could offer a durable solution to their plight and the chance to build a new, self-sufficient life.
